Also here in Finland, we will build straw-bale houses. A whole village for artisans and craftspersons.
If you would like to see pictures and drawings from our project [partly Underground straw bale house],
you find pdf-files in English and Finnish here:

http://provillage.wordpress.com/

More rendered 3D-drawings and pics, a lot about building straw-bale houses and all kind of related stuff. We discuss here:

http://henry.blogit.uusisuomi.fi

Even if it is in Finnish, you will understand most of the 3D-drawings and what they are connected to.
You can also comment in English, Russian, Chinese, Swedish, Norwegian or Arabic.
It does not matter which of these languages.

We are interested in all kind of international cooperation.

P.S. We have the same 'head' picture in our site.

I found my small house plan on a website called thehousedesigners.com. I was a little nervous ordering blueprints from a website, but my builder was pleasantly surprised when he got the plans, and our house is about 1/2 constructed and is everything I could have every wanted in a house. I recommend everyone to build their own homes if they can possibly do it. Our house is small but it was cheaper than buying a spec house.

I have read bits and pieces from this book, and am intrigued. I plan on ordering it from Amazon.

I must admit, I don't quite understand the part about putting windows the reflect beautiful views in the places of transition. I can understand not having a wall of windows in a living room - sometimes this seems overwhelming to me when I encounter it - but it seems as if there should be some sort of happy medium!

One story, my knees shouldn't have a two story house :) Maybe a little storage space upstairs depending on what kind of roof we go with.

The stone house would be quite quaint. I should learn more about living roofs. Really, I just need to keep reading the Buidling Green book I checked out from the library.

4 months? Really? My bad. We have made changes, changed our mind and rethought many things since my last post. The littlest one has also learned to crawl since my last post, I suppose that could be part of it. I have been meaning to get back to work on this, make the floor plan even smaller and only on one level. Thanks for your comment, good luck with your house!

I used Home Design Studio to make the plans.

Hey there! I found your site while researching for our home build. Seeing your drawings and what you are planning is very interesting. Did you do these drawings yourself (what program did you use?) or have an architect draw them up for you? Its great to see others planning to do the same. I noticed you haven't updated a post in 4 months, have you made any further progress since then?

Good luck and keep posting the blog so I can follow along! Cheers, Mark

This is my most recent yurt <a href="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2096/2530114675_6420aa5754.jpg?v=0" title="floor plan" rel="nofollow">. Heated floors sound dreamy and cozy. The two walls that have stairstep heights written on them are open cube bookshelves 30" by 30".
